Whack! You slam the car door and it hits your knee on the way past.
This makes me think of Homer when he's trying not to swear.
Without citing examples, do you think it's ok to say the odd swear word? If so, where do you draw the line?
I have been brought up in a home where swearing was never allowed...not even 'mild' words! So this has always been my viewpoint.
However, as Ive got older (and wiser?!) I find myself saying the odd mild word, normally out of frustration or if im in an environment where the people are saying similar words quite freely.
Saying this, I don't necessarily agree with what I do. Because Its usually out of anger or in order to fit in..which are two reasons which don't really cut it for me.
So my overall opinion is...(which can be applied to alcohol/drugs/smoking etc etc)... I live my life to honour God and to live radically and dangerously pure. A life which stands out from those around me...so if that means not swearing...i shall try not too. But its all down to my attitudes and motives.

Thanks Rex. I recently did a talk entitled 'Living dangerously pure' with my youth group. It was so challenging. I really had to examine my motives and assess how much integrity I had in my life..so have had a lot of time to think about this!
Hope you and the family are well
