Another amazing time at the detention center. Nick led a time of worship and we all raised the roof, dancing and singing our praise to God. As the meeting went on more and more people flooded in. I got up to speak and shared a few stories and then backing up what I was saying about God being interested in them on a personal level I gave some key words of knowledge into their lives, one I had seen in a dream previously, one I had been given a description of before arriving and one... this is strange, I had smelt before, yes I had a word and a smell with it. I figured when I smelt this person again I would know who it was for, and sure enough a man sat in front of me and he smelt just like what I had smelt several days ago. Amazing. Needless to say many responded when I invited them to start a journey into relationship following Jesus, I actually got around to counting this time and it was 22! Yay God.

"Go" Church "Go"

So another glorious time over in Horsham. This time the power of God fell during exuberant praise and worship. It was very messy, the room was bouncing with bodies as people encountered the power of God some for the very first time. A few prophetic words and about 2 hours of non stop praise, we only stopped because we had to.

Looking forward to being in prison!

I never thought I would say "I'm looking forward to going to prison" but I truly am, it's always such a blessing to worship with the inmates and to see how full life can be when you know the truth of Jesus and allow that truth to set you free, these people may be in prison but some are living life more than those I see walk past my window "free" every day.

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you." these folk have life in them!

The last time we led and spoke at the prison the hall was filled to capacity, 21 people gave their lives to Christ and the guards couldn't stop talking about it, what's going to happen this Sunday!

People giving their lives to Christ.

Sunday 7th October - Prison - Soaking - Lowder

Aprox 21 people gave their lives to Christ at a detention center in England, Nick sang his little heart out as the convicts danced and praised the Lord. Rex and Nick shared some stories of what the Lord is doing and outworking in and around them. Rex then invited people to give their lives to Jesus and many responded including one Muslim. "It was so heart melting to see these strong grown men in floods of tears in the presence of God" Rex Allchurch. Later that day Rex and Nick led a time of soaking in Leatherhead which saw a room filled with singing, crying and rejoicing. Within 2 minutes of ending the soaking session Rex and Nick were straight into Pioneer Engage Church to help facilitate another wonderful time of worship and more people gave their lives to Christ. "Just overwhelming to see what happens when you give up and hand over to Jesus, you just wait in His presence, you abide in Him and the fruit.... well it's amazing" Rex Allchurch

Saturday 6th October Soaking.

Nick and Rex spent the evening worshiping/soaking and began the process of recording their first soaking album due for release with integrity next year.

Friday 5th October in the Theater in Leatherhead,

People got saved! Jay Lowder delivered his testimony and shared what God had put on his heart, about 9 people either rededicated or gave their lives to Christ. Nick and Rex had great fun worshiping the Lord and even got to say hi to some old friends who traveled along to the event. Pedro!

Resting in His Presence - Rex Allchurch

In 2004, Rex Allchurch was an up-and-coming worship leader with a debut album, ‘To Love The Lost’, under his belt.  Playing at churches and Christian festivals across the UK, Rex was already working passionately for the Kingdom when God stopped him in his tracks and changed his focus forever.

“I was at a conference in Toronto,” Rex remembers, “People around me were worshipping, but I was analysing everything - from the guitars to the chord sequences to the lyrical content.  God really struck me and I realised I’d put all this weight on the quality of the music, judging whether it was ‘good enough’ to lead me into the presence of God!  I didn’t know what it was to just enjoy my Father’s love.”  Later in the conference, Rex was introduced to the concept of ‘soaking’, a practice that has become central to his life and ministry.  “Soaking is just waiting on the Lord, being in His presence and giving yourself to Him.  It changes your perspective – earthly things slow down and your way of thinking is transformed as you say, ‘Father, what’s on your heart today?’”

Power and Purpose

Today, Rex’s ministry is based on his biggest goal: to love God.  He sees himself not as a ‘worship leader’ but as a son who simply wants to be intimate with his Father.  “I don’t feel like I need to lead people,” Rex says.  “That’s the Holy Spirit’s responsibility, not mine. I’m just going to jump straight in and invite people to jump straight in with me!  I think if you focus on being in God’s presence, then whatever wells up and comes out of you is going to draw others into His presence too.  I want to meet with the Lord, and people seem to gravitate to that.”

No stranger to the spiritual needs around him, Rex has witnessed the power of God at work from the prisons to the streets through his Sussex-based ministry.  Working with band members Nick Harding and Mikey Randon, who have shared his passion from the beginning, Rex’s desire is to see salvation and renewal in the lives of those he meets.  “We’re seeing lives transformed,” Rex says.  “People are searching for something they haven’t got, and what they’re searching for is absolutely natural: it’s the creator, whom we were born to love.”

God in Reality

Rex’s new album, ‘Jesus Instead’, is a refreshing blend of contemporary influences, with songs ranging from joyful abandon to the face-on-floor intimacy of its title track, an exquisitely simple ballad of God’s grace.  A powerful testament to real-life encounters with miraculous grace, healings and conversions, the album is also honest about the sorrow and suffering we all have to face.  “The songs are weighted in a reality that we want to see God’s kingdom come, but also that we’re praying for things and not seeing them happen.  There are frustrations in life, and in some cases devastation - but that doesn’t change my faith in God.”  He shares about friends who received the record on the day they lost their unborn child, and were comforted by God through the music.  For Rex, this is enough to make the album worthwhile.  “Whatever it does now, it’s already done what I wanted it to do,” he says.  “Maybe it’ll touch other lives - I really hope it does.  I really pray it’s a CD that is soaked in the Father’s love.”

After a six year hiatus, returning to his platform as a recording artist was not Rex’s plan, but God’s.  “I had no intention of signing with another record label,” he says.  “I wasn’t interested in getting involved with the industry again, but it was like God had been preparing stuff for me.  I just spent my time seeking and worshipping Him, and everything fell into place around me.”  Rex’s future is still to be written, but if there is one lesson he’s learned so far, it is to be ready for anything.  “Give up all your ambitions.  Make your ambition to seek after Christ, see what the Father is doing and just join in!  It’s uncomfortable at times ‘cause you just don’t know what’s going to happen, but you keep trusting God, and you realise that it’s all taken care of.”

Forgiveness Behind Bars

"On average, we are seeing around 2-3 people every day become Christians" From the Chaplin at the prison.

Yesterday (Sunday 3rd Oct 2010) Nick, Mikey and I intentionally found ourselves in prison. We walked through the high fenced area through the courtyard surrendered over all our belongings with the exception of a bible and drum sticks, I even had my belt checked for a concealed knife (I didn't have a knife).

Mikey played his drums in a way that I had never heard before, it was like with each hit of the drums a shard of light was thrown out into the room, it was visibly impacting hearts around the low lit sealed room watching darkness flee and hearts filled with the joy of God's grace was beautiful, the room was pretty much at capacity with around one hundred convicted people that morning.

Nick led us in "we are marching in the light of God" as Mikey pounded the drum kit people all around the room began to dance and rejoice as more and more of Christ's light spread.

I then preached on knowing the Father's love my experience of encountering God and the freedom in forgiveness, forgiving ourselves, forgiving others and receiving the forgiveness bought by the blood of Jesus. Around 50 people responded to a call for prayer. Hearts were unveiled and years of hurt brought to the table and given over to Jesus. One man said to me "you will never truly know what it is you have done here today for me, I can not thank you enough, today after 23 years of holding unforgiveness toward my father I have forgiven him, today I forgive him for what he did to me ..." many asked to know the Lord, for healing, for help to forgive others, to forgive themselves and for their families.

What an honor and a joy it was for the 3 of us to be an instrument of good news to these people.

Mathew 6:14/15 The Message
“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part.
